From the old quarter mile dirt track to the indycar speedway, racing has always been part of Nazareth, PA.  Even though those glory days have passed, we still thirst for speed and showmanship.

Enter NASBRA…Nazareth Adult Soapbox Racing Assoc.  Our goal is to “bring racing back to Nazareth”….gravity style.

--------

Started in 2008 by founder Matt Rinker, the gravity race ran successfully until 2012, when it became too large to run safely with the small volunteer crew.  Two of the original crew members, who work for The Lehigh Conference of Churches, received approval to bring back the race as a fun community event and as a fundraiser for the Conference and select Nazareth organizations.  The annual race returned on June 3rd, 2023 for its sixth season.

--------

Each year, on the first Saturday in June, we return to the West Prospect St. hill to satisfy our need for speed and wow the crowd.

The Lehigh Conference of Churches is a faith-based, nonprofit agency connecting basic human needs to the most vulnerable people in the Lehigh Valley: food, housing, dignity, a sense of belonging, and hope for the future. Our mission is simple. We help families and individuals maximize their independence and reach their full potential.
